Launch of new interactive Manual Handling training course.
Pathways Training and Development Ltd has launched a new interactive Health and Safety Manual Handling Course. The breakthrough package makes Manual Handling training simple for employers to put into practice, and easy for employees to study.
The CD-based course is an interactive presentation which teaches and tests all relevant aspects of Manual Handling training. Broken down into easy-to-digest sections, it explains topics such as analysis of the task, capabilities of individuals, the effects of different loads, the work environment, key factors and legislation. Sections of information are followed by a series of multiple-choice questions which test an employee's acquired knowledge. At the completion of the course, if the employee has answered the questions correctly, a certificate is printed to provide evidence of a Course Pass. Otherwise, the programme is redirected to the start to enable the operator to revise the sections which have provided difficulty.
Eddie Kenyon, Managing Director of Pathways Training and Development Ltd said, "Manual Handling is a really important area for employers today. More than half of non-fatal injuries in the workplace are attributable to Manual Handling accidents, and many companies don't understand that they are required to carry out Manual Handling training. This course plugs the gap, and allows employers to meet their responsibilities to their employees and to the law, and have an evidence trail that their staff have been properly trained."
And employers have been quick to recognise the value of the course.
"It comes as a shock to many employers when they find out they should be doing Manual Handling training," said Kenyon. "Many have said that our course was the simplest solution to what, otherwise, would have been an expensive and time-consuming problem. We've saved them from days of organisation time and lost productivity."
The Pathways Training Manual Handling course is available on CD now. A preview is available here.
